The Cruel Ultimatum

The bright screen of Elena's phone glared in the bedroom, displaying a frozen thumbnail that made Chiara's blood run cold. She stared at the humiliating image, her chest heaving as the crushing weight of their betrayal tore her soul apart.

"How could you do such a thing to me? What have I ever done to you?" Chiara sobbed. The raw pain in her voice echoed off the walls.

Elena scoffed, stepping closer with a venomous sneer. "Because you get everything. You get all the love, all the attention, and it sickens me. Our father looks right past me. Valerio never spared me a second glance, even when I wore myself thin trying to impress him. You have been loved by everyone in this house, and that is exactly why you deserve this destruction."

Chiara shook her head, fighting through the thick fog of despair. "God will not spare you for this evil. You will pay for what you are doing to me."

Elena let out a sharp, mocking laugh that sent chills down Chiara's spine. "There is no God, Chiara. If there were, you would not be crying on the floor in front of me right now. You only have two choices here. Do exactly as we say, or we post the video of you getting fucked on your wedding day online for the whole world to see."

Chiara wrapped her arms around her stomach. "After ruining my life this much, what else could you possibly want from me?"

Elena pulled a digital camera from her designer bag and clicked the power button on. "We do not want much. We will let you walk out of here in one piece after you make a brief confession on camera. But you will never return to this city again."

"What kind of confession?" Chiara asked. The dread settling in her bones felt suffocating.

Elena adjusted the lens, pointing the dark circle straight at Chiara's tear-stained face. "Look into this camera and state that you cheated on Valerio on your wedding day. Say that you no longer want to live with this family, and you are leaving the city on your own terms. We are forcing you out, and you are going to make it look like your own selfish choice."

"I will never do that! You set me up!" Chiara lunged for her dropped phone on the carpet, desperate to call her father for help.

Elena moved faster, kicking the device out of reach. "Think before you do something stupid. Are you sure you want this public scandal to break? If this video leaks, your reputation is dead. But more importantly, the humiliation will kill our father. You know his heart cannot take a shock like this. If you embarrass the family name with a sex tape, he will drop dead on the spot."

Chiara froze in place. The cruel threat struck her in the chest like a physical blow. Her father was aging and fragile. He was the only real parent she had left in this cruel world. If the stress of a massive, shameful scandal hit him, his weak heart would give out.

Chiara sank back onto the floor, sobbing into her palms. The manipulation was a flawless, inescapable trap. She could not bear the thought of harming the only man who had ever cared for her. She dragged herself up to her feet, abandoning her own future and reputation to protect his honor.

Chiara wiped her tears away with the back of her hand and stared dead into the camera lens. "Record me."

Miles away, a terrifying tempest brewed inside the walls of the mafia boss's estate. Dario paced the length of his grand study. He gripped a crystal wine glass, his knuckles turning white under the strain. He stopped and glared at the line of men standing before him. His furious gaze paralyzed them in place.

"I want to hear a yes before you speak." Dario issued the cold command, his deep voice echoing in the cavernous room.

The subordinate at the front of the line kept his gaze fixed on his shoes. "Boss, we searched everywhere, but the girl vanished without a single trace. We do not know if she is from this city or just passing through."

Dario took a menacing step forward, invading the man's space. "Are you implying I spent the night with a ghost? You are telling me a random woman can evade my network in a matter of hours?"

The subordinate flinched, anticipating a bullet to his head for his incompetence. "I am sorry, Boss. We will keep looking."

A mechanical hum broke the suffocating tension. The heavy oak doors swung open. An older man in a motorized wheelchair rolled into the study, pressing a button on the armrest to navigate the threshold.

"My grandson! When did you return home, and why are these men shaking like leaves?" The old man asked. A faint grin played on his lined face.

Dario shot a lethal glare at the trembling guards. "Leave."

The men did not hesitate for a second. They scrambled out of the room, desperate to escape the devil's wrath. The heavy doors clicked shut behind them, leaving the two men alone in the oppressive silence.

The grandfather chuckled, ignoring the deadly aura rolling off his grandson. "They fear you, but I do not. Care to explain what is generating the storm in your eyes?"

Dario turned his back on the old man and downed the rest of his wine. The liquid burned a harsh trail down his throat. "I have no time to watch you pretend. I know you orchestrated the drugging scheme."

"I admit I took certain steps, but the plan went awry." The grandfather confessed calmly. He steepled his fingers together. "Believe me, Dario, the girl I selected for you never showed up in your bed. Her name is Camilla Falcone. You stumbled into the wrong hotel room."

Dario tightened his grip on the empty glass until the crystal shattered into jagged shards. Blood welled on his palm, but he ignored the sharp sting. He dropped the broken pieces onto the hardwood floor and spun around to face his grandfather.

"I despise lies and manipulation. No matter how much you try to protect this mysterious girl I slept with, I will kill her the second I find her." Dario made the lethal vow.

"You do not know what you are saying because you are mad. The Falcone girl I arranged for you is a good woman. You went to the wrong room and ruined the arrangement." The old man tried to placate him.

Dario stormed toward the exit, blind with rage and refusing to listen to another word. He shoved the heavy doors open and marched out into the corridor.

"Dario, listen to me!" The grandfather shouted after him.

Dario sat in the back of his black SUV, watching the dense woods blur past the windows. He pressed his phone to his ear, his tone sharp and precise.

"Bring Miss Falcone to my penthouse immediately." Dario ordered his men, ending the call before they could utter a reply.

Deep in the secluded forest, the imposing structure of Dario's penthouse sat isolated beside a black lake. It did not take long for a dark sedan to pull up to the front steps.

Camilla Falcone stepped out of the vehicle. She smoothed down the fabric of her tight dress, her heart hammering against her ribs. She was nervous, but a wild exhilaration burned in her veins. Her dream was finally within reach. After ruining the grandfather's initial plan by failing to show up at the hotel, she thought she had lost her golden opportunity. Now, the billionaire mafia boss was summoning her directly to his private domain. She was desperate to claim his wealth and power, and she would not let him slip away tonight.

Camilla reached into her designer clutch and pulled out a small glass bottle. She sprayed the expensive perfume over her neck and wrists, ensuring she smelled perfectly enticing for the most dangerous man in the city.

The front door opened before she could even knock. A butler stood in the entryway, his expression unreadable.

"The Master is waiting for you inside." The butler announced, stepping aside to grant her passage.

Camilla drew a deep breath, filling her lungs to brace her nerves. She had to maintain her composure if Dario tried to intimidate her. She stepped over the threshold and walked down the dimly lit hallway toward the main chamber.

She stepped into the expansive room. She was immediately greeted by Dario's broad, imposing back profile as he stood motionless near the windows. Camilla stared at his massive shoulders, realizing she could never have known how a cold room would tempt her until she met Dario.
