“I’m going to kill her,” Vaughn murmured so low, I almost didn’t hear it.

“Uhm, why would she tell you that?” I gasped, cheeks growing red as I placed a hand on my chest. “I would… I would never—” I paused, because I was explaining myself to my boss. Yes, he was my employer, but I didn’t have to explain why or why not I’m not going home with anyone. I was single, and a grown-ass woman.
