Pregnant But Cheating

POV: Sienna Adler.

The marble floor of the foyer felt like a distant nightmare as rough hands dragged me outside. The pack training ground had been transformed into a terrifying arena of judgment. I stood in the dead center of the dirt field, the dry dust coating my shoes. A dense sea of disgusted, hateful faces surrounded me, glaring down from the towering spectator stands. Pack members whispered to one another, their sneers and harsh judgments cutting through the tense morning air. My blood turned to ice in my veins.

Elder Mr. Alden stepped forward, his heavy boots crunching against the dirt. His voice echoed through the silence, officially accusing me of deeply humiliating my Alpha King.

"It brings great shame upon us all," Mr. Alden boomed, holding up a stack of printed screenshots for the crowd to see. "A Luna Queen behaving in such a vile manner. Not only did she disgrace herself, but she made a laughingstock of our Alpha King by exchanging illicit text messages with a male from another pack."

He publicly detailed the messages, reading the dates and timestamps aloud for everyone to hear. As the twisted words left his mouth, the pieces of the puzzle clicked together in my mind. This was a well-orchestrated scheme. Cleo. For months, she had been routinely borrowing my phone under the guise of friendship. She had played mobile games, sent texts, and laid the precise groundwork for my execution while smiling directly to my face.

But the truth held no weight here. I scanned the faces of the counselors standing in a rigid line behind Mr. Alden. Their minds were set firmly against me. Their eyes held no mercy, only a hungry anticipation for my downfall.

"This is precisely why an Omega should never be mated to an Alpha King," Mr. Alden sneered. His upper lip curled in profound disdain. He weaponized my low rank, using my bloodline to justify my condemnation. "An Omega cannot comprehend the heavy burden of our reputation. She does not respect the title."

I turned my desperate gaze to Kaelen. He stood a few paces away, his broad shoulders stiff, looking like a statue carved from ice. I silently begged for his intervention. I needed him to silence the crowd, to declare my innocence, to look into my eyes and see the mate he loved. But his jaw was locked. A muscle feathered in his cheek, and he refused to even look in my direction.

The pack secretary stepped forward. He marched up to the wooden table placed directly in front of me and slammed a stack of heavy documents onto the surface. The sound cracked like a whip. The bold letters across the top read: *Divorce and Pack Expulsion*.

Panic clawed at my throat. It felt like I was inhaling shards of glass.

"Kaelen!" I openly begged, my voice cracking over the silent crowd. "Please, help me! You have to hear my side!"

Instead of my mate stepping up to defend me, Sabine emerged from the shadows of the counselors. Her high heels clicked against the hard dirt, her voice dripping with mockery.

"Sign the papers quickly," Sabine urged, tapping a silver pen against the documents. "Release the Alpha King from the agonizing torment of being tied to you. A formidable wolf like him deserves a mate of equal standing, not a worthless traitor."

"But I'm innocent," I choked out.

My voice broke. The crushing weight of hundreds of glaring eyes bore down on my shoulders. The sheer terror of losing my mate, my pack, and my life collided in my chest.

Suddenly, a wave of severe sickness hit my stomach. It was undeniable and intense. Acid rushed up my throat, burning my esophagus. My vision blurred into a smear of muted colors, the training ground spinning out of control beneath my feet. Before my hand could even grasp the silver pen to sign my life away, my body rejected the mounting stress.

I doubled over. I vomited directly onto the legal papers, ruining the crisp white pages with my sickness. The crowd gasped in collective horror. The sounds of their disgust faded into a dull, underwater ring. My knees buckled, and I instantly blacked out, collapsing onto the hard ground.

When I regained consciousness, hours had passed. The sharp smell of sterile medicine filled my nose, stinging my senses. I blinked, my eyelashes heavy and crusted with dried tears. I opened my eyes to find myself lying on a narrow, stiff cot. I scanned the room. Bare walls, a tiny window, cramped space. A barren maid’s room. It was a harsh visual confirmation that I had been abruptly reduced from the revered Luna Queen to an absolute nobody.

The heavy wooden door creaked open. My heart leaped with a desperate flutter. Kaelen stepped inside.

A pack doctor trailed closely behind him, followed by the ever-scowling Mr. Alden. I pushed myself up onto my elbows, searching Kaelen's face for a shred of worry. The expression on his face was not one of relief. It was devastated, hardened with a fury that stole the breath straight from my lungs.

"Kaelen!" I whispered. My voice came out raw and scratchy. Instinct took over, and I swung my legs off the cot, trying to rush toward him.

He threw his hand up, slashing the air to signal me to halt.

"Don't even try to come any closer, you filth," he roared.

The sound vibrated off the small walls of the maid's room. His eyes glowed a terrifying, feral red, his wolf's fury unleashed and barely restrained beneath his human skin.

"You got pregnant by that man," Kaelen snarled, his chest heaving with every word. "While every night, you told me I was wrong for not planning a baby with you! You begged me for a family, all while carrying his spawn!"

The words hit me like a physical strike to the jaw. My mind went blank. The accusations echoed in my ears, but only one phrase stuck.

"I'm pregnant?" I whispered.

For a fleeting, surreal second, the horror of the trial melted away. A genuine smile crossed my face. The miracle of creating life bloomed inside my chest. I placed a trembling hand over my flat stomach. We were having a baby. Our pup.

Then, the brutal reality of his accusation truly registered in my mind. The smile shattered. Panic set in. I shook my head vigorously, tears flying from my cheeks and hitting the collar of my shirt.

"No!" I cried out. "I didn't get myself pregnant by anyone but you!"

Kaelen scoffed, a harsh, guttural sound. He took a step forward, his towering frame casting a dark shadow over me. He viciously accused me of orchestrating this entire deception.

"You planned this," he spat. "You laid with that coward, and when you realized you carried a bastard child, you tried to pin it on me. You expect me to raise another man's pup?"

"I've never been with anyone but you!" I sobbed uncontrollably. My legs gave out, and I dropped to my knees on the cold floor. I clasped my hands together, looking up at the mate who held my entire heart. "Please, Kaelen. I was set up. Cleo sent those messages. My body only belongs to you. It has always belonged to you!"

Footsteps sounded from the hallway. Sabine coldly interjected from the doorway, her bureaucratic tone slicing right through my desperate sobs.

"According to pack law," Sabine noted, consulting a clipboard in her hands, "we cannot simply execute a pregnant female. We will have to wait a grueling four months for the baby to develop enough for a werewolf DNA test. Only then can we definitively determine her fate."

"She's just stalling," Kaelen hissed, his words carrying a chilling certainty. "I am certain I didn't sleep with her."

My jaw dropped. The air vanished from the room. My heart physically ached, a sharp, stabbing pain right in the center of my chest at his blatant denial.

"What are you saying?" I pleaded, staring up at him through a blur of tears. "We were together that night."

I desperately tried to trigger his memory. I spoke of our drunken celebration weeks ago. The laughter, the heavy drinking, the heat of his skin against mine when he pulled me into bed. The way his hands felt on my body, claiming me as his mate. But Kaelen vehemently denied it. His face remained a mask of stone. His mind seemingly had erased the night entirely.

"Do not lie to me, Sienna," he commanded, his voice devoid of any warmth. "We have not shared a bed in months. You know this."

I stared at him. The man standing before me was a stranger. The mate bond connecting us felt frayed, stretched to its breaking point by his stubborn refusal to remember. Knowing deep in my soul that he would eventually regret this profound denial, I forced myself to stop crying. I sucked in a ragged breath. I wiped the tears from my face, smearing the wetness across my cheeks. I gathered my fractured dignity and pushed myself up from the floor.

I locked eyes with him, standing as tall as my shaking legs would allow.

"Well," I said, my voice steadying. "I suppose we'll have to discover the truth in a few months."

Kaelen spit back with pure venom, his eyes flashing red one last time. "Sure! I'd love to see you leave once it's proven that the baby is not mine."

He stepped back, crossing his arms over his chest, allowing the elder to deliver the final blow.

Mr. Alden cleared his throat. He officially decreed the ruling. "Your trial will be postponed. Until the DNA test can be administered, you are formally banished to the servant quarters. You are stripped of all your Luna duties, titles, and privileges. You will not leave this wing."

With the sentence delivered, they turned their backs on me. They filed out of the cramped room one by one. The heavy wooden door clicked shut, the sound echoing like a gunshot in the confined space.

I was left entirely alone.

I stood frozen for a long time. I stared blankly at the peeling, empty walls. The paint was chipping near the baseboards, a stark contrast to the luxurious silk wallpaper of the Alpha's suite I used to call home. But the downgrade in living conditions meant nothing compared to the visceral hatred burning in Kaelen's eyes. That look haunted my every thought. It replayed in my mind on an endless loop. The disgust. The harsh rejection.

I placed a trembling hand over my stomach again. Beneath my palm, a tiny spark of life was taking shape. My wolf whined, a low sound of distress echoing in my mind.

I refused to let my unborn baby grow up surrounded by this toxic pain and rejection. No child of mine would be viewed as a bastard, raised in the shadows of a servant's room while their father looked at them with contempt. The thought of waiting four agonizing months confined in this dismal room, letting the pack whisper lies and poison Kaelen's mind further, was simply not an option.

I had to take control of my own fate.

Pushing myself away from the stiff bed, I wiped the last remaining tears from my chin. I squared my shoulders. I made a firm, desperate resolution. I had to find Kaelen immediately. I needed to speak to him alone, without his sycophants clouding his judgment, without Alden preaching about Omega ranks, and without Sabine pushing divorce papers in my face. I had to somehow convince him of my unwavering loyalty and force him to remember that night.
