I stood inside Valerius’s strategy room, my attention fixed on the map spread across the table as the latest markings were adjusted.

I had been going over the changes again when the doors opened without warning.

Two sentinels dragged a wolf inside.

His condition told me everything before anyone spoke. His arms were bound, his movements restricted, and his posture showed resistance even as
