Valerie hurriedly reached out and covered Donovan's mouth.

If he kept running his mouth, she'd probably have to bolt.

"Shut up," Valerie warned him fiercely.

If he dared say one more word, she'd let him have it.

Even with Valerie's hand clamped over his mouth, Donovan kept trying to ramble on.

Valerie pinched his waist lightly.

Donovan's face changed, and he finally threw up his hands in defeat.
