What I Wished For

Donovan curled his lips into a playful smile. "Wanna go together?"

He was inviting Valerie to join him on the hike up the mountain.

Valerie didn't hesitate. "Sure."

As soon as she agreed, Donovan reached out his hand. "Let me carry your bag for you."

'I can just carry it myself,' Valerie thought, about to protest.

But Donovan was already gently taking hold of her backpack's strap.

Seeing he wouldn
