A Desperate Plea

I feel my breath hitch the minute he asks that question. Suddenly, the car feels a bit hot, and I find it hard to breathe. Teo, of course, seems unaware of what to say next. His question is direct; I can't possibly pretend not to understand what he's talking about or try to sidestep. He’s put me in a difficult dilemma this time.

But the question, even though I don’t want to answer it,
