"He's... he's not coming, baby," I say, my voice cracking a bit.

Leonardo stares back at me for a while like he's trying to make sense of what I'm saying. He looks past me, then back at me with the same slightly puzzled look on his face.

"He's not going to come?" he repeats in a questioning voice that makes my heart clench.

"Don't worry about him. How was your day with Rosalie?" I say
