Talia’s POV

Talia led Kaelen upstairs to their bedroom, her hand clasped tightly in his, neither of them said a word. Words felt inadequate for what was coming, for the storm that would break over them tomorrow.

The bedroom was quiet, lit only by the city lights filtering through the windows. Kaelen closed the door behind them and leaned against it, just looking at her.
