Dressed to Impress

Valerie’s POV

I led Darius and the girls to the exam room, where Chloe sat on the exam bed and Dr. Lowell started looking her over. I stayed a few feet back, watchful, trying to learn. Talia stood beside me with Darius on the other side of her.

Chloe seemed healthy from what I could tell, and was in good spirits. She answered all of Dr. Lowell’s questions with easy friendliness.

“How are you likin
