Darius glanced over at me. I was certain that he couldn’t hear the thoughts in my head, but I still jumped a little, like he could read my mind and knew what I had been accusing him of.

“Giselle is ready for the blood donation,” Darius said.

“Right,” I said and started toward him. The supplies I would need were already inside of the examination room. All I had to do was get inside.
