I felt pretty good after shutting Giselle down, but the good feeling didn’t last for very long, especially when, after walking up the lab, I found it locked. Veda wasn’t standing in the hallway, and there was talking inside. She had to be in there.

Why was the door locked?

Immediately, it sent shivers down my spine, reminding me of when I’d been locked in the records room in the dark
