An Unavoidable Call

The next day, Lenore joined me for my ultrasound appointment.

Fortunately Faye seemed to be off today, because I didn’t see her at all. Although she could have seen me with Lenore and steered clear, knowing Lenore would defend me.

Regardless, after we entered the examination room, I laid down on the examination bed, with Lenore sitting on the chair beside me. Veda stood with the equi
