Undeniable Bloodline

The water poured down my back, hot and steady, but I barely felt it.

Steam clouded the bathroom mirror. Droplets slid down the tiles. My hands were pressed against the wall, head bowed, eyes shut as the spray hit my face. But it wasn’t the heat making my heart race.

It was the memory.
