As Deacon drove out of the quiet neighborhood, I sat in the backseat with my fingers pressed against the letter in my bag, but my thoughts were still back in the bookshop.

My heart was full of questions, but oddly I felt a sense of peace too.

Meeting Maude gave me something I didn’t know I was searching for.

Closure for Aunt Vespa’s death… for the restless dreams and the memories tha
