"Open it."

The guard looked at me.

At the cell door.

At me again.

The blood moon curse had always done one useful thing.

It kept me awake.

Every other night of the month the venom and the sleepwalking and the chains. But blood moon nights the curse burned so hot it burned itself out. Left me functional. Present.

Tonight that meant I left Talia's bed fully awake and went directly to the
