I opened the door so fast that the guard jumped back at how suddenly it happened.

“By ‘little,’ what do you mean? How little are we talking about?”

He looked away. “I don't know, ma'am. I can't say.”

I groaned, frustrated. Why would he tell me something this crazy and then turn around and say he “couldn't say” when I asked follow-up questions?
