Dr. Dubois's office felt smaller than usual, the walls closing in while I sat in the chair with my back to the wall and my hands twisted in my lap.

I hadn't spoken for the first ten minutes of the session because I didn't know how to say out loud what had happened, what I had done, what I had let him do to me in the hallway three days ago.

"You're quieter than usual," Dr
