We ran and ran. My chest was on fire, my throat burning with every gulp of cold air, and still, Pietro's girlfriend didn't stop. She was like a ghost, fast and quiet, her steps not even stumbling once.

I felt like I would fall any second, but her hand dragged me forward so hard I couldn't let go even if I wanted to. My legs screamed in pain, but the fear in my chest was louder.
