Unexpected Reunion

"Mom," I call, surprised to see her.

She offers me a smile and widens her arms. I rush to her and embrace her. She holds me gently and rubs my back.

"Mom," I call again, becoming emotional as I hold her. I haven't seen her in ages. Although we communicate frequently, I have greatly missed her. I told her about what Alaric plans to do today. I also told her about the rumors and how worried I was.
