CADE

The knife goes in beneath my ribs. Again. I feel the hot burst of pain.

I try to fight, but my arms won't move.

The concrete beneath me is wet. Blood spreads under my body, soaking my shirt. Someone laughs in my ear.

"You should never have crossed her."

The blade twists and I scream.

I bolt upright with a gasp, my chest heaving. Darkness presses in from every side. The sheets are tangl
