KELLAN’S POV

The road was quiet. Too quiet.

Streetlights stretched along the pavement as I drove toward the grocery store, the hum of the engine filling the silence inside the car. My hands tightened slightly around the steering wheel.

Something didn’t feel right. At first, I ignored it. I told myself it was just the leftover anger from the fight. Or maybe the thoughts that still hadn’t fully lef
