I felt the hairs at the back of my neck rise as I followed Nolan to the garden. I didn't know what he wanted to talk about. I was feeling overwhelmed already. Overwhelmed because of the way Kellan's parents looked at me.

Like I wasn't worth Kellan. Like I didn't fit Kellan. Like I wasn't a good match for him. And honestly, I knew I wasn't. Even though Kellan had admitted to me about a
