My phone buzzed relentlessly against the solid oak nightstand. The harsh, grating mechanical sound dragged me out of a heavy, exhausted sleep. I groaned softly and fumbled blindly across the massive mattress. The expensive silk sheets felt tangled and suffocating around my sore, battered body. My fingers finally grazed the cold metal edge of the device. I pulled it to my face and squ
