Nadine’s POV

I didn’t even know how I got there.

Everything after that moment blurred.

Valerie’s eyes.

The gun.

The way she looked at me right before they shoved her inside like she didn’t want me to panic. Like she already accepted whatever was coming.

My chest burned like someone lit a fire and locked it in.

I urged the Uber driver to drive the fastest he could on the way to the station.

And wit
