A gentle cool breeze blew through the window into the room but was quickly mitigated by the warmth inside.

Valerie was startled by the movement behind her and woke up. When she opened her eyes, she realized Donovan was hugging her tightly.

It seemed his grip was more aggressive today.

She rubbed her eyes and gently pushed him away. “Donovan, I need to get up.”
