Waking Up Next To A Stranger's Cock
The morning sun pierced through the heavy hotel curtains, casting bright streaks across the room as Valerie Vance regained consciousness. She let out a heavy groan, her body screaming in sheer agony. It felt as though she had been struck by a massive truck. She attempted to shift her battered weight on the mattress, but as she turned over, the breath was knocked straight out of her lungs. Her heart nearly stopped.
A breathtakingly handsome, yet cold-looking man lay fast asleep right beside her.
Panic seized her throat. Fragmented memories of the previous night crashed back into her mind. She remembered the suffocating heat spreading through her veins and the sudden dizziness at the graduation party. Then came the terrifying realization that someone had drugged her drink. She recalled her desperate, stumbling escape down the hotel corridors, leaning against the walls for support, only to barge into this stranger's room.
Gritting her teeth against the throbbing pain, Valerie slipped out of the messy bed. She glanced down at the floor, spotting her torn clothes ruined beyond repair. Scanning the dim room, her eyes landed on the sleeping man's oversized white dress shirt draped over a chair. She grabbed it, throwing the fabric on to cover her naked body. Without looking back, she fled the hotel room.
Shortly after the heavy door clicked shut, Donovan Whitmore woke up. He sat up, his sharp gaze sweeping across the massive suite, only to find it empty. He noted the chaotic state of the room and the glaring red bloodstain smeared across the crisp white bedsheets.
Ever since a catastrophic accident five years ago, Donovan had suffered from a severe, incurable physical allergy to women. The condition had sparked nasty rumors throughout his elite social circle regarding his inability to continue the family lineage. The undeniable fact that he had intimately spent the night with an unknown woman was a medical miracle. He had not broken out in a rash. He had not struggled to breathe.
He reached for his phone and summoned his trusted assistant, Leander Mercer. Leander arrived at the hotel suite minutes later, stepping inside just as Donovan put on his clothes.
Donovan buttoned his cuffs. "Check the surveillance cameras. Gather every piece of information on the woman who was in my room last night."
Leander froze. He was shocked by this impossible development regarding his boss's previously incurable condition. Three years of treatment overseas had done nothing, yet here he was, demanding information on a woman.
Donovan narrowed his eyes at the silence. "Is there a problem?"
Leander gave a quick nod. "No problem at all, sir."
As the assistant turned to leave the room, Donovan issued another command. "Tell the lawyer, Mr. Delgado, to come see me in my office immediately."
By nine o'clock, Valerie arrived at the imposing iron gates of Pine Grove Manor. She walked up the sweeping driveway, noticing the housekeepers lingering around the courtyard. Fear of inevitable gossip regarding her night out gripped her chest. Before she could avoid them and slip inside, the butler approached her. His eyes darted over her, questioning her strange, oversized attire.
"You are back early, ma'am. What happened to your clothes?"
Feigning confidence, Valerie tugged at the hem of the large white shirt. It barely covered her thighs. "I just bought it. It is the latest design. Does it look nice?"
The butler nodded, masking any further judgment. Valerie forced a casual smile and retreated upstairs. The moment she disappeared down the hallway, the butler walked away to a quiet corner and pulled out his phone to make a report.
Inside her bedroom's adjoining bathroom, Valerie ran the faucet and soaked in a hot bath. She tried to soothe her aching muscles, closing her eyes against the thick steam. She seethed in pure anger, her wet fists clenched tight under the water as she silently vowed to make the person who drugged her pay.
A deep sense of dread quickly extinguished her rage. She knew she could not afford to let this incident blow out of proportion. Her legally wedded husband, whom she had been married to for three years but had never met, was scheduled to return from overseas very soon. If he discovered that she slept with another man and confronted her family, the consequences would be disastrous.
A sharp knock at the bathroom door shattered her anxious thoughts.
The butler called out to her through the wood. "Ma'am."
Valerie sat up straight in the tub. "Yes?"
"Mr. Whitmore's—"
Valerie tensed up, her heart pounding hard against her ribs. "He is back? So soon?"
