Bruised Ego

Victor didn't leave Valerie much time for speculation and went straight to the point. "You can call me Victor, and I'll call you Valerie."

Valerie silently repeated the name "Victor" in her mind, suddenly feeling a sense of familiarity as if she had uttered it countless times before.

She blinked, suppressing the peculiar emotions that arose.

Strangely enough, ever since she got to know the father
