I faced him as he held me in the moonlight, his grip tight around my waist. I pushed against his arm, but he did not release me.

He pulled me closer, forcing me to stand steady in front of him. His eyes stayed on mine as if he was waiting for me to speak first.

"Why are you here?"

I did not answer immediately. My chest rose and fell as I steadied my breathing.

"I asked you a question."
