Tessa was taken aback for a moment. The guard standing nearby quickly stepped forward and helped Jonas to his feet.

Tessa gestured to the guard, then turned to Jonas. "If you have something to say, just say it. No need to kneel like that."

Jonas let out a bitter laugh and thought, 'Just say it? But no one listened to me when I tried to speak up back then.
