I stood my ground, my arms crossed tightly against my chest, waiting for the fallout. My chest heaved with every shallow breath, the heavy silence ringing in my ears like the aftermath of an explosion. My words hung suspended in the thick, suffocating air of our living room. I braced myself for the incoming storm. I expected Nolan to unleash a barrage of defensive anger. I waited for
