“Don’t look so surprised!” I tell Corbin in an attempt to calm him. Right now, he looks about ready to pass out from me, having announced I might have a deathmatch against my father.

“How can I not be surprised? I had no idea you were going to battle your father to the death! What even made you come up with this dangerous idea?!”

“My father isn’t suited to lead the Frost pack. He is an old
