“Do you want to come home and spend a few days? Daddy misses you, Mia Bella. I won’t mind having you here with me till you recover fully.”

I smiled to myself, staring out the window of the ward. Whoever designed this hospital was brilliant. The view was beautiful, a lovely garden that was as natural as it came, ponds, flowers, rocks and all. Gazing at it alone was healing.

“I’m doing fine wh
