Kaidan's POV

We stepped over shattered stones and rusted remnants of whatever used to be buildings. Everything looked somehow worse than it had yesterday. Maybe it was because the shock had worn off—or maybe because now we were really looking.

The place had been gutted, burned to the foundation and then left to rot. Any traces of life had been erased. This wasn’t just a ruin. It was a graveyard.
