Kaidan's POV

I couldn’t focus. Not at the conference. Not on the speakers. Not on the carefully rehearsed presentations flashing across the massive LED screen. Every word spilled into the room like static, indistinct and meaningless, buried beneath the only thing taking up space in my mind.

The night before.

I hadn’t felt it in ten years. Not like that. Not real sleep, the kind that didn’t com
