I did a double take, my lips on the verge of curling into a smirk. “Your girl?” Rowan’s icy cold expression did not change but I know, he knows that I know he fucked up. “You sound jealous. I thought you had no interest in her?”

“Answer my question, Kae.” His voice got way too quiet for my liking. “Why are her eyes closed like that? What happened to her?”
