Never Enough
It wasn't enough.
The branches slapped against my arm, grazing my skin.
It still wasn't enough.
I still felt like her. I still felt like the hopeless, trembling mess of a girl who had sank to her knees that day in Oakhurst. I still felt fear in a way I'd never felt before.
