The Gilded Cage

Kaelen and I walked down the stairs into the dining area. I clenched and unclenched my fists, readying myself for whatever it was he was waiting to throw at me.

Once we got to the breakfast table, there was an entire buffet waiting. Muffins, pancakes, orange juice, rice and stew. There were huge chunks of meat floating in the delciously smelling bowl of stew.
