The room spun above my head, both brothers disappearing as I got pushed into the back of my mind.

I couldn't believe this. Any of this.

From the beginning, I had been begging for it to all be a lie. I was still ready to give them the benefits of the doubt.

I wanted my daughter to run into my arms and for them to scream ‘got you’.
