Strangers Again

Everyone's eyes locked onto Clara. Clara looked down, standing silently. After a moment, she replied softly, "I won't see him again."

With Clara's clear answer, Miriam broke down. "Clara, do you really feel nothing for Dante?"

Clara spoke quietly but firmly, "If hatred counts, then yes. I hope that in this lifetime, we never meet again."

Miriam paused, trying to hold back her tears. "I know you've
