Whatever It Takes

Before dinner, Clara returned to the Thorne Manor.

Dante hopped off the sofa excitedly. "How did it go?" he asked eagerly. "Did they agree?"

Upon seeing Clara's eyes, red and swollen from crying, Dante's expression froze in an instant, and he fell silent.

As Clara changed into her slippers, he quietly stood by her side. When Clara helped him to the dining room, he didn't ask another question.
