The Limits of a Promise

In the new home Dante prepared after getting engaged to Stella, she saw Dante coming through the door and burst into tears, throwing herself into his arms.

Dante subtly pushed her away. Stella, pushed away by Dante, looked visibly upset and crouched down to get his slippers.
