A Sweet Misunderstanding

The room was unusually quiet, and for the first time, Declan hated it.

The only audible sound came from the IV drip. Tick. Tick.

Declan took a seat beside the bed, offering silent company to Clara. Later, he instructed the butler to pick up Leo and bring him to the Mercer family residence to stay with Luke. After all, Declan deduced that Leo might feel uneasy if left alone at home.
