“I just saw the letter.”

For a moment, I genuinely thought I had heard him wrong.

I stared at the folded paper in his hand, then back at his face, and then at the paper again because my brain simply refused to process what he had just said.

“What?”

Moretti lifted the letter slightly.

“I just found it.”
