Phantom roared within me, her fury rising to meet his insult. The fire of her anger coursed through me, a molten resolve that he couldn’t possibly see. Baron had no idea the storm he had just unleashed. My blood boiled at his arrogance, at the audacity to call me worthless, to think I was helpless.
