Veda was staring at Alpha Leon with shock in her eyes, and Beta Tate looked upset. Alpha Leon was already by Veda’s side, and I wondered if he had forgotten about all the bad rumors concerning her.

"Veda, you are my mate," he said, as Veda timidly spoke up. "I'm sorry, but I'm married with twin pups. You must have also heard about the scandal. I'm with Beta Tate, and I love him."
