Damian was awake. Serena silently thanked the darkness for concealing the panic in her expression.

After a few moments of silence, she said, "I'm just thirsty and want to grab a glass of water."

She heard a slight shuffle on the other side of the bed as Damian got out of bed. "Stay still. I'll get you a glass of water."
