No Longer Yours

“It’s over, Gary. You’re over.”

The words lingered in the foyer long after the woman he had spent over fifteen years with walked away.

Gary stood frozen in the center of the room, staring at the entrance as the sound of Helen’s heels faded into the distance.

It wasn’t her final insult that clawed at his mind.

It was the last thing she said.

“Tell Mr. Draven I said thank you.”
