The neon lights of the Vortex club bled through the windshield as Vance cut the engine. He stepped out and walked around the sleek Mercedes, pulling the passenger door open for Fiona. The heavy bass from inside the building already vibrated through the pavement beneath their feet.

"I'll walk you in," Vance stated. He kept his tone casual, masking the predatory anticipation coiling in his gut.
