"Where have you been?" Maeve asked, staring at the man in front of her. Declan chuckled lightly. After weeks of absence, Declan had suddenly returned, immediately finding his way to the hospital.

"I had to go clear my head," he answered. A couple of days ago was the death anniversary of his mate and pup. Needing space and answers, he had left. Maeve looked at him thoughtfully. He was smiling, but
